If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.”~Alice in Wonderland
How’s your new year going? Have you set your 3-month intentions? Notice that I did not use the word “goals.” Why? Intentions are stronger than goals.
Anyone can set goals for you but only you can set your intentions.
Steven Covey taught us to “begin with the end in mind and work backward.” I agree with Covey, but I ask my clients to first Assess.
- Leaders: Assess where they are in their leadership development.
- Patient Advocates: Assess where they are in their Patient’s Journey through the healthcare system.
- Women in the Workforce: Assess your current situation.
I have several assessment tools that I use with my clients to help guide the assessment process.
After assessing where you are, THEN begin with the end in mind to plot your path to success.
To begin with the end in mind, you must have a Vision. Effective leaders set the vision and share that vision with their team.
As a patient advocate, it is important to have a vision – what do you want?
If you are a woman in the workforce you can’t move forward until you are clear about what you want.
During my complimentary coaching sessions I ask, “what do you want?” The responses I get are typically, “I’m not sure”. ” Maybe I’d like to …” “If everything works out I’d like to …” If your path and destination are foggy, what progress can you expect?
Get a clear vision of what you want.
If you’d like help forming a clear vision, contact me for a complimentary coaching session to determine if we are a good match and if I can help you achieve your success.
